Several key sections of Pakistan’s motorways, including the M2 and M1, have been shut down due to preparations for an upcoming PTI rally in Lahore, leading to significant travel disruptions. The closures, announced by the motorway police, have impacted major routes, causing inconvenience for commuters traveling to and from Punjab, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
PTI Jalsa: Motorway Closed
According to a motorway police spokesperson, traffic on the M2 motorway from Chakri has been completely halted, while vehicles from Neela Dullah are being rerouted to alternate roads to prevent congestion around the rally site. Similarly, the M1 motorway, connecting key cities in KP, is also experiencing closures at multiple points, further complicating travel for those heading towards Lahore.
These closures are part of heightened security and traffic control measures ahead of the PTI’s public gathering in Lahore.
Lahore Traffic Plan Today
Travelers from the northern regions have faced long delays due to the blocked sections. Numerous vehicles have been spotted in lengthy queues near Chakri and Neela Dullah, as drivers are diverted to alternative routes to manage the traffic load.
The motorway police urge commuters to stay informed about alternate routes and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid further inconvenience.
